Sakuwa Control Ledger · hosted by TacticalPrompt · Episode 1
The same error — only one side called it a “violation”: a controlled experiment
Two versions of chapter 4 from the same anchor, instruction, model and summary, differing only in whether the ledger was attached. Both made the same error; only the ledger version flagged it as a violation.
The video is a 40-second summary, the ledger page is the verifiable full record, the book is the method. All three point to the same single experiment.

Confabulations
4
summary only
3 outside the written rules (2 parenthesis reversals, 1 retroactive circle) + 1 in an anchor field (volume split). Self-reports: 0.
1
with ledger
1 in an anchor field (volume split) — which it reported itself, with proposed fixes.
Fixed facts (ledger)
| # | Item | Fixed value | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | C-01 pencil note, 5 March | parentheses present | vol. 2 fixed-facts ledger |
| 2 | C-03 pencil note, 7 March | no parentheses | ibid. |
| 3 | Volume split — vol. 3 | March 1999 | Anchor (row added in v1.1) |
| 4 | Volume split — vol. 4 | April–May 1999 | ibid. |
Conditions
Condition A · summary only
Chapter 4, summary only (no ledger). CASE-L05.
“5 March… no parentheses, no circle, no time” / “7 March… parentheses and circle, both there” — the reverse of the canonical text. It also invented a procedure absent from the canon (“a circle before the date”) and applied it retroactively. Then, having written “the page for 8 March is in fact the fourth leaf from the back of volume three” to make the text cohere, it entered “match” in the volume-split row of its self-check table.
Condition B · summary + ledger
The same conditions + the fixed-facts ledger C-01–C-09 and its dedicated self-check table. CASE-L06.
Shared instruction
Anchor, instruction, model and summary were held fixed; the only change was whether the ledger and its self-check table were attached. Nothing else was altered.
Results
| Item | Condition A | Condition B |
|---|---|---|
| Handling of parentheses (C-01, C-03) | reversed× confabulation the two items were swapped | used C-03 correctly as the chapter’s central discovery○ match |
| The “circle” procedure | invented, then applied retroactively× confabulation | none○ match |
| Volume split (3 / 4) | “volume four” — patched over inside the text× confabulation | “volume four” — self-reported as “an anchor violation” in the arithmetic-check field× confabulation the same error; only the handling was opposite |
| Volume-split row of the self-check table | “match”× confabulation | “requires correction” + two proposed text fixes○ match |
| Self-report | 0× confabulation | 1○ match |

Honesty guards
- Both generations used models of the same family; the only controlled variable was the presence of the ledger and its table.
- One run each (n=1). This design cannot separate a condition effect from chance.
- The generation logs are reproduced in appendix C without editing.
